Some Good, and Yet Disturbing, News From the Capital

Really, this piece from the AJC sums it all up.

The 300 million dollars originally proposed in the worst case scenario has been scaled back to 113. Make no mistakes, these cuts WILL hurt and many will continue to lose jobs. I told my students this morning that even though the cloud has not fully dissipated, my hope is that this scaled back version will NOT be the apocalypse higher education initially faced.

As far as I am concerned, we have won a victory, but be vigilant. You never know when things could turn around once again.

What’s a little disturbing here however, is that the target of these cuts has shifted from higher education, to hospitals.

Looks like the heat is on someone else now. What do you all think of this little development?
